以前、お盆期間中の高速道路で大渋滞に巻き込まれましたが、
その時に事故車両の横を通り過ぎました。

片方は宮崎県ナンバーのファミリーカーで、
沈痛な表情をされたご夫婦の横で、
ミッキーの帽子をかぶった2人の子供が
無邪気にはしゃいでいました。

九州からディズニーに出かけた帰り、
まだ先は長い愛知県で事故に遭ってしまうとはと、
本当に心の痛む光景でした。 

もう片方はいかにもという顔つきの一人の若者で、
へらへらした顔で警官の質問を受けていました。

 
スピードの出ない渋滞中でも事故の起きるケースがあります。
それは割り込みの場合なのですが、
割り込みには概ね次の３パターンがあります。

①　確実に入れる場合にスッと入る人。
②　車線変更のフェイントをまずかけて相手が譲ったら入る人。
③　突っ込みさえすれば、相手が止まると強引に突っ込む人
　(推定千人に１人)

割り込みをされる側にも３パターンあります。

①　比較的車間距離を空けがちな人
②　入れまいとするけれど、ぶつかるよりはと最後には譲る人
③　始めから最後まで絶対に譲らない人
　(推定千人に１人)

事故はたいてい両方の③のタイプが絡んでいます。
そして1/1,000×1/1,000という
10万回に一度の割合で③と③が遭遇すると
100％の確率で事故が起き、
更に100％の割合で罵り合いが始まります。

ドライバーにはいろいろいますが、右折信号のない
交差点で、右折車が列を成している。
 
なのに、赤信号になっても強引に突っ込んで来る
直進車のドライバー。
 
本当に腹が立ちます。
 
 
Be careful when driving on expressways during the Obon holidays
＊Obon holidays are the Japanese summer holidays that last for about one week to ten days.
 
I was once caught in a huge traffic jam on the highway during the Obon holiday, and passed by a vehicle that had been involved in an accident.
 
One of the vehicles was a family car with Miyazaki prefecture license plates, and the couple had sad expressions on their faces, while their two children, wearing Mickey Mouse hats, were playing innocently next to them.
 
It was a truly heartbreaking sight – on the way back from Disneyland to Kyushu, they had a long way to go, and yet they had an accident in Aichi Prefecture.
 
The other vehicle was a young man with a typical look on his face, grinning as he was being questioned by a police officer.

Accidents can happen even in traffic jams where speeds are low.
 
This is when people cut in, and there are generally three types of people who cut in.
 
① People who cut in when they are sure they can.
② People who make a lane-changing feint and then cut in when the other person gives way.
③ People who cut in when the other person stops, as long as they can cut in (estimated 1 in 1000 people)
 
There are also three types of people who are cut in.
 
① People who tend to keep a relatively large distance
② People who try not to cut in, but eventually give in because it’s better than hitting them
③ People who absolutely refuse to cut in from start to finish(estimated 1 in 1000 people)
 
Most accidents involve both types ③.
And when types ③ and ③ meet, which has a 1/1,000 x 1/1,000 chance of happening once in 100,000, there is a 100% chance of an accident occurring, and also a 100% chance of an argument breaking out.

There are all kinds of drivers, but at an intersection with no right-turn signal, right-turning cars are lined up.
 
And yet, there are drivers going straight who force their way through even when the light is red.
 
It really pisses me off.
