前回記載しました方のエピソードは凄かったのですが、
まだまだ書ききれなかったことがあります。
 
①カート道近くに行った玉に対し、
　カート道に足を届かせるために、
　 グリーンとは全く違う方を向いて思いっきり足を広げ、
　 「カート道にかかるからドロップするぜ。」と。
 
②残り1.5mほどのパット。
　パットラインの横に正座し、 いきなりパットラインを
　手の平で順番にトントントンと平らにする。
 
人間、本当に驚くと、一瞬思考が止まり、
言葉にすることができません。
 
「いやいや、それはアカンでしょ。」と声が出たのは、
それらの行動が全てが終わってからでした。
 
一方、「プロより強いアマチュア」と称され、
未だにその名前が出される時には
畏敬の念が込められる「中部銀次郎」氏。
 
もし、彼を語るときに
 
「スコアを巧妙にちょくちょくごまかした」だとか、
「カート道が近くにあるとこれ幸いとばかりに足を伸ばし、
　カート道にかかることをアピールした」
 
という話も伝えられる人であったとしたら、
今もその名が残ったでしょうか？
 
何とかして1つ、2つとスコアをよくするために
一生懸命練習とかをするのですから、
そりゃスコアはとても大事なものです。
 
しかし、それは何よりも優先されることなのでしょうか？
 
僕は腕前がどうであれ、自分の好きなゴルフを大事にし、
ルールの文面だけではなく、ルールが作られた目的や
意図を最も尊重する人こそグリーン上の偉人では
ないかと思います。

いやあ、よかったです。
 
「グリーン上の偉人」のつもりだったのに、
知らぬ間に「グリーン上のどうにもならん人」の話
になってしまい、 どうしようかと思っていました。
 
その矢先に、突然、「中部銀次郎」氏の名前が浮かび、
そこから、一気に「グリーン上の偉人」の話で大団円（？）
 
本当に奇跡でした。
中部氏が舞い降りてきたのかしら？と思いました。
 
それにしても、何とも言えない本当によい表情を
された方だと思います。中部氏は。
 
 
Great Men on the GreenⅡ
The story I wrote about last time was amazing, but there is still more I couldn’t write about.
 
①When the ball went near the cart path, he faced away from the green, spread his legs as wide as he could to reach the cart path, and said, “My feet are going to touch the cart path, so I’m going to drop it.”
 
②The putt is about 1.5m away.
Sit upright next to the putting line and immediately tap the putting line with each hand in turn to make it flat.
 
When humans are truly surprised, they stop thinking for a moment and are unable to put it into words.
 
It was only after all of that was finished that I finally uttered, “No, no, that’s not right.”
 
On the other hand, there is Ginjiro Nakabe, who has been called “an amateur stronger than a professional” and whose name is still met with reverence when it is mentioned.
 
If people had told stories about him, such as “he cleverly and frequently cheated on his score” or “he received unfair relief when a cart path was nearby,” would his name have remained with us today?
 
Since you practice hard to somehow improve your score by one or two points, the score is very important.
 
But is it something that should take precedence over anything else?
 
I believe that regardless of skill level, Great Men on the Green are those who value the game of golf they love and who most respect not only the letter of the rules but also the purpose and intent for which the rules were created.

Oh, I’m glad.
I had intended to write about “great people on the green,” but before I knew it, it had turned into a story about “useless people on the green,” and I was wondering what to do.
 
At that moment, the name “Nakabe Ginjiro” suddenly came to mind, and from there, the story of “great men on the green” came to a happy ending (?).
 
It was truly a miracle.
I wondered if Mr. Nakabe had descended from heaven.
 
Even so, I think Mr. Ginjiro had a truly wonderful expression that is hard to describe.
