僕の好みに過ぎないのですが、打ち終わった後の
シャフトが立ったままのフォームも好きです。
 
真似しようと思っても
あそこまではなかなか立たないですが。
 
丸山茂樹の今の立ち位置は？
松山英樹選手の出現以前は、
日本の男子プロで一番の実績を誇る選手
ということだったのですが、
今は二番手になってしまいました。
 
故障中であり現役の選手でもありません。
 
でも、ゴルフ関係の番組での露出度は非常に高く、
青木功さんの後を継いで、
日本を代表するゴルフ広告塔という感じがします。
 
もちろん、彼の後には宮里藍さんが
もうスタンバっているんですが。
 
選手としての実績も勿論武器なのですが、
丸山選手の発言はユニークというか
聞く人を惹きつけるものがあります。
言い方も独特です。
 
その点は青木さんと同じなんですが、
言い方・切り込み方はそれぞれ独特です。
 
小さなボールを使っていいならそりゃ使いますよ。
飛んだ方がゴルフは楽しいですし。
ゴルフは楽しい方がいいじゃないですか。
 
「マスターズ」という番組の別の日の放映で
別の面白いこと言ったんですよね。
 
その別の例を思い出せなくて歯がゆいんですが、
丸山選手の話は面白いものが多く、それを
聞きたくて、彼の出る番組は極力見るように
しています。
 
藍ちゃんも本人は望んでいないかも
しれませんけど、もし丸山選手の路線を
狙ってくならしゃべりがどうかなあ？
という感じはします。
 
優等生的で今の所、
あんまり面白くないんですよねえ。
 
お兄ちゃん二人の話はなかなか面白いから、
隠しているだけかもしれませんけど。

Golf poster boy: Shigeki Maruyama
 

 
This is just my personal preference,
but I also like the form where the shaft remains upright after hitting the ball.
 
Even if I try to imitate it, it doesn’t work very well.
 
Where does Shigeki Maruyama stand now?
Before the emergence of Hideki Matsuyama,
he was the most accomplished male professional golfer in Japan,
but now he is ranked second.
 
He is currently injured and is no longer an active player.
But he has a very high level of exposure on golf-related programs,
and it feels like he has followed in Aoki Isao’s footsteps as
Japan’s leading golf poster boy.
 
Of course, behind him, Miyazato Ai is already standing by.
 
Of course, his achievements as a player are a plus,
but Maruyama’s words are unique and captivate the listeners.
He also has a unique way of speaking.
 
He has the same track record as Aoki,
but his way of speaking and approaching things is unique.
 
If it’s okay to use a smaller ball, then of course I would.
Golf is more fun if the ball flies further.
Isn’t it better for golf to be fun?
 
He said something different and funny on a different day on the TV show “The Masters.”
 
It’s frustrating that I can’t remember the other example,
but Maruyama’s stories are often very interesting,
and I want to hear them, so I try to watch as many TV shows as possible where he appears.
 
Ai-chan herself may not want it,
but if she wants to follow in Maruyama’s footsteps,
I wonder if she should be good at talking?
 
What she talks about is very goody-goody,
so it’s not very interesting for me.
 
Her two older brothers’ stories are pretty interesting,
so maybe she’s just hiding how interesting she is.
