寒い冬でもゴルフをしたい、
でも、冬のゴルフは本当につらい、
着ぶくれてスイングもしにくいし。
 
ということで、冬場は来場者が減少します。
実際に雪でクローズになるという場合もあります。
 
サッカー、ラグビー等、英国生まれのスポーツは
冬でもプレーされるものが多いのですが、
珍しくゴルフはそうではありません。
 
全英オープンは7月に開催でも
「寒い」というイメージがありますので、
冬などとんでもない話なのかもしれません。
 
そんな中、暖冬傾向ということもあるでしょうが、
冬のゴルフは以前よりも相当楽になってきています。
 
その一番の要因は、多分、
貼り付けるタイプの使い捨てカイロの登場です。
 
今では、各コースで当たり前のように
1人1袋ほどがサービスで渡されますが、
貼り付けるタイプのものは
 
①足の裏に貼り付けておく、
②背中にも貼り付けておく
 
だけで、冬のゴルフを相当楽にしてくれます。

衣料品も安価で保温能力の高いものが
ここ数年で一気に出回るようになってきて、
以前に比べればさほどの厚着も必要ありません。
 
「だからゴルフ場に冬も来てください」
 
だとか、衣類メーカーさんとタイアップして
 
「安いですから防寒着をどんどん買いましょう」
 
ということではありませんが、
 
ハイシーズンよりも間違いなく空いていますし、
夏場よりもアイアン・寄せは難しくなりますので、

Advances in winter cold protection: disposable hand warmers
I want to play golf even in the cold winter,
but playing golf in winter is really tough,
as I end up wearing too much clothes and it’s hard to swing.

“Please come to the golf course in winter,”

“Buy lots of winter clothes because they’re cheap,”
 
It will definitely be less crowded than in the high season, and iron and approach shots will be more difficult than in the summer, so if you’d like, please come and play some winter golf in preparation for next summer.
